Augusta House Walla walla

Once the home of important Native American settlements as well as a bustling frontier town, Walla Walla is a unique historical city located near the junction of the Columbia and Snake Rivers in Southeastern Washington. Today the town of Walla Walla itself could be described as a sleepy suburban paradise complete with a charming downtown filled with boutique shops and restaurants, though perhaps most importantly it happens to be jam-packed with outstanding wineries of all shapes and sizes. This quaint rural community is hub of the Walla Walla Valley AVA, which stretches from Washington down into parts of Oregon, and has grown into one of the most notable quality-oriented winegrowing zones in the Pacific Northwest. From Cabernet Sauvignon to Syrah and even Riesling the wines of the Walla Walla Valley have proven themselves to be well worthy of exploration, and we naturally had to stop by to delve into this region for ourselves.

We carved out time to spend a few days in Walla Walla on our recent west coast wine country exploration trip and can confirm that this beautiful city and wine region mightily deliver on all of their promises. While the wines and wineries we encountered were exquisite the highlight of our visit might just have been the amazing vacation rental we stayed at while in town. We first discovered Augusta House Walla Walla when scouting out potential accommodations and immediately knew we had found a truly special place. Augusta House is a gorgeous no-expense-spared modern farmhouse located in a quiet neighborhood five minutes south of downtown and five minutes east of the area's most notable wineries. Its convenient location provides easy access to all of the area's greatest attractions and leaves nothing to be desired. The house itself is remarkably spacious with 3 large bedrooms and a comfortable kitchen and living room area, and can sleep as many as eight adults with ease.

We found the Augusta House to be flawlessly decorated and extremely thoughtfully laid out. In addition to the bedrooms and cozy common areas the house boasts an amazing converted garage that serves as a TV and activity room, complete with a ping pong table, dart board, and a full sized bar. We found ourselves mostly kicking back and relaxing after our days spent at nearby wineries and loved getting to play games and watch TV while unwinding over a glass of local wine. Another major highlight was the backyard which contains extensive seating, a bbq grill, a hot tub, and a large putting green. Although we're admittedly terrible golfers we had an absolute blast getting out and slapping the ball around during the cool Walla Walla mornings, and we ended up eating most of our meals outside while enjoying the great weather and clean country air.

Augusta House is truly the ultimate vacation home. Its location is absolutely perfect for those looking to access all that Walla Walla has to offer, although there is so much to do at the house that hanging back to relax can be just as much fun. We're absolutely thrilled to have discovered this incredible vacation rental and will certainly be staying here again next time we're in town. Augusta House can be conveniently booked via Airbnb, VRBO, and through other local rental sites, and will certainly be the highlight of your Walla Walla vacation too.
