2017 LeVois Vineyard Zinfandel - T-Vine Winery

T-Vine Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley.jpg

Brambly blackberry, wild sagebrush, spiced cranberry. Barely-ripe blueberry, cracked black pepper, strawberry reduction. Fresh dill and crushed rosemary, white carnations and smashed violet. A cornucopia of tart and spicy berry fruit roars with harmonious intensity, kindly aided by red plum, cherry stems, and a dousing of basil and paprika. Pretty floral notes complement a touch of aromatic lift undercut by overgrown briar, manzanita, and eucalyptus. Wafts of coconut and sweet vanilla point to judicious use of American oak that does not detract from soil tones of parched earth, sandstone, and iron. Full bodied with elevated tannin and acidity, showing impressive structure, focus, and precision. This 2017 LeVois Vineyard Zinfandel by T-Vine Winery is a deliciously complex and expressive red from Dry Creek Valley.

Considered by many to be the spiritual home of American Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley is a unique appellation located near the northern edge of central Sonoma County. This area is home to some of the worlds oldest and greatest Zinfandel vineyards and possesses ideal terroir for low-intervention dry farming. This bottling, crafted by T-Vine Winery using Zinfandel sourced from the LaVois Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley, is a tremendously compelling example of why this region and grape have been elevated to high international fame. While flawlessly balanced and quite restrained this wine has no shortage of Zinfandel's characteristically complex and diverse fruit notes backed by plentiful herbal tones and peppery spice. It is quite serious and age-worthy in nature without losing any agreeability in its youth; a feat that can only be achieved with the perfect combination of grape and place.
