Brambly blackberry, wild sagebrush, spiced cranberry. Barely-ripe blueberry, cracked black pepper, strawberry reduction. Fresh dill and crushed rosemary, white carnations and smashed violet. A cornucopia of tart and spicy berry fruit roars with harmonious intensity, kindly aided by red plum, cherry stems, and a dousing of basil and paprika. Pretty floral notes complement a touch of aromatic lift undercut by overgrown briar, manzanita, and eucalyptus. Wafts of coconut and sweet vanilla point to judicious use of American oak that does not detract from soil tones of parched earth, sandstone, and iron. This area is home to some of the worlds oldest and greatest Zinfandel vineyards and possesses ideal terroir for low-intervention dry farming. This bottling, crafted by T-Vine Winery using Zinfandel sourced from the LaVois Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley, is a tremendously compelling example of why this region and grape have been elevated to high international fame. While flawlessly balanced and quite restrained this wine has no shortage of Zinfandel's characteristically complex and diverse fruit notes backed by plentiful herbal tones and peppery spice.
