This bottling, crafted by Domaine Drouhin Oregon using Chardonnay sourced from their Roserock estate in the Eola-Amity Hills, is a beautifully archetypal example of what this cool climate region is capable of. It is clearly focused on freshness and precision over ripeness or weight and manages to express incredible purity of both varietal character and terroir. While it has seen some time in barrel the oak treatment here is not obtrusive, rather it adds just a hint of softness to a wine practically vibrating with energetic tension. An exceptional offering by one of Oregon's most noble producers.
