Bright cherry cola, violet essence, decadent strawberry preserve. Sweet raspberry, sauteed portobello mushroom, orange oil. Delicate vanilla and fragrant clove, forest floor and gravelly loam. Pomegranate, cranberry sauce, and rhubarb pie form an opulent core of massively expressive fruit that struts its lush, ripe, and downright sexy concentration with unapologetic chutzpah. Notes of undergrowth and light sous bois gradually emerge providing mild umami-driven complexity that does not come close to overpowering the plush and pronounced fruit.  Impressions of cinnamon and spice imparted by tasteful oak treatment complement warm overtones carried gently by a soft ocean breeze and underlying stony minerality. Fruit forward and full bodied - backed by moderate tannin and nicely elevated acidity. This 2017 Rosella's Vineyard Pinot Noir by ROAR Wines is an irresistible and incredibly delicious red from one of the Santa Lucia Highlands' greatest vineyard sites.


Located in western Monterey County at the base of the Santa Lucia Mountain Range, the Santa Lucia Highlands is a region shaped by a unique combination of cold ocean winds and consistent California sunshine. This bottling, crafted by ROAR Wines using Pinot Noir grown in their own legendary Rosella's Vineyard, magnificently exemplifies the decadence and charm that the best wines from the Santa Lucia Highlands posses. While overtly hedonistic in nature this wine's considerable power remains skillfully in balance, and quality and execution are absolutely top notch. Although it clearly contains ample stuffing to age this bold and succulent California Pinot is begging to be opened and enjoyed today. Simply an outstanding creation by the ROAR team.
