2020 Côtes de Provence Rosé - Miraval

Juicy watermelon, crushed rock, crunchy nectarine. White strawberry, pink carnations, fresh-squeezed lemon. Surprisingly expressive yet still thoroughly delicate waves of grapefruit zest, raspberry essence, and yellow cherry highlight a delightfully crisp and lively fruit core that manages to maintain excellent depth despite palpable electricity and tension. Notes of cool granite and sea salt swiftly emerge to provide a highly mineral and slightly saline backbone further enhanced in freshness by subtle hints of mint leaf and peeled cucumber. Wafts of white blossom, lavender, and baby's-breath gradually reveal layers of unexpected floral charm while gentle impressions of herbs de Provence further complicate the display. Impressively pretty and poised on the palate while simultaneously remaining terrifically tart, dry, and thirst-quenching; exhibiting outstanding complexity and crunch throughout a presentation bursting with both energy and elegance. Medium in body and lovingly driven by high acidity. This 2020 Côtes de Provence Rosé by Miraval is a refreshing and wonderfully exciting rosé from Southern France.

Located in the scenic sun-drenched hillsides of the French Riviera, the region of Côtes de Provence has become absolutely legendary for producing some of the world's greatest and most popular rosé wine. This bottling, crafted by Miraval using a blend of Cinsault/Grenache/Syrah/Rolle sourced from their iconic estate in the Côtes de Provence, marvelously captures the unique combination of energy and depth that have made this region's rosés so highly regarded. This wine gracefully radiates a range of deliciously nervy citrus, berry, and stone fruits balanced by subtle herbal tones, pleasant florals, and excellent minerality. It is bright and thoroughly refreshing while still remaining interesting and contemplative, and pairs excellently with sunshine or a range of fresh meals. Wonderful.
