Bing cherry, crunchy leaves, raspberry tea. Red licorice, new cedar, strawberry pastry. Cinnamon and cardamom, potpourri and sweet violet. A light touch of manicured sandy gravel and a pinch of table salt combine with toasty baking spices to add character to voluminous red fruit. Pure, clean, beautiful, and just downright tasty. This 2017 Rosella's Vineyard Pinot Noir by Loring Wine Company projects the strengths of one of the Santa Lucia Highlands most famous vineyards.

Planted in 1996 to 50 acres of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah, Rosella's Vineyard is a well-known gem of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Some of the finest Pinot producers in the state including Kosta Browne, Miner, and Siduri source fruit from here and its reputation as a top quality site is firmly established. Wines from Rosella's exhibit energetic & intense fruit forwardness with a dash of marine earth. This bottling, produced by Loring Wine Company, is one of the finest examples we have tried from here. While still quite young it is fully in focus and ready to enjoy. Winemaker Brian Loring does a fantastic job at letting the fruit speak and this bottling shows what makes his wines so special. If you're into big fruit-driven California pinot then this stuff is a must-try.
