2014 KW Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir- KORi Wines

Dense black cherry, fresh hay, succulent red plum. Wild raspberry, nutmeg, a massive bouquet of youthful violets. Subdued oak framing a deep core of ethereal fruit. Saline, stoney, and fresh - like wading through a tide pool at low tide. This 2014 KW Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir by KORi wines is an undiscovered gem hiding out in the Santa Lucia Highlands.

Purchased by the Williams family in 1965, KW ranch is primarly an avocado and citrus farm located in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. In the late 1990's when he realized his neighbors were making some of the best Pinot Noir in the state, owner Kirk William's decided to tear out some of his grapefruit and orange groves in order to plant wine grapes. He sold his fruit to well known local producers for years until somewhat recently when his daughter Kori decided they should bottle some of it themselves. The wines coming off of this property are something special, and you can really taste the care and intentionality that went into each bottle. We highly recommend checking out KORi Wines for those who enjoy central coast California Pinot Noir. This has been our favorite bottle of SLH Pinot we've had in a very long time.
