2014 Griva Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc - Kori Wines

Anjou pear, tangerine, mowed lawn. Stone fruit, celery stalk, grapefruit zest. White carnations and pressed green juice spilled onto wet gravel. A hint of cardamom, a touch of cedar, and fresh clean acidity. This 2014 Griva Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc by KORi wines is a unique take on a distinctive grape.

Sauvignon Blanc is a grape varietal that takes on many unmistakeable flavor profiles. Zingy grapefruit in Marlborough. Juicy tropical notes in Napa. Stoney minerality in Sancerre. Yet this wine, created using fruit from the Arroyo Seco AVA of Monterey County California, floats somewhere in between. It probably comes closest to high quality white Bordeaux without being quite as texturally rich. The melange of flavors here dance between earthy to fruity to vegetal in a contemplative yet satisfying way. KORi Wines comes through again with an expertly crafted single vineyard offering that punches well above its weight.
