Ethereal Bing cherry, forest floor, juicy boysenberry. Rhubarb pie, ground coriander, pomegranate preserves. Tremendously expressive yet still elegant bursts of blueberry, sweet strawberry, and blood orange boom with wildly aromatic and ambrosial delight as wafts of blooming roses, lavender, and hydrangeas further bolster hauntingly high-toned fragrance. Hints of pine cone, forest floor, and mushroom gently impart a range of pretty forest notes that are playfully interlaced with a gorgeous spice rack of cinnamon, cardamom, and clove. Suggestions of loamy earth, iron, and sea breeze reveal charming reflections of terroir that are presented alongside a lingering and delicious impression of cola. Wonderfully tart, bright, and fresh on the palate while remaining extraordinarily deep yet not heavy; exhibiting an absolutely intriguing presentation that combines contemplative complexity and beautifully weightless opulence. Medium plus in body with elevated satin-like tannin balanced perfectly by brilliant acidity. This 2017 "Three Brothers" Pinot Noir By Holman Ranch is an incredibly compelling and captivating red from Monterey County's Carmel Valley.

While the Santa Lucia Highlands remain Monterey County's most well known region for high quality Pinot Noir, the Carmel Valley to its west is also perfectly suited to the production of world class wine made from Burgundian grape varieties. This bottling, crafted by Holman Ranch using Pinot Noir sourced from the Carmel Valley, marvelously captures the cool climate brilliance of this scenic coastal region. This wine eccentrically emanates a range of aromatic red and blue fruits bolstered by beautifully perfumed flowers, complex baking spices, clean natural notes, and subtle earthiness. Though still quite youthful this is already drinking exceptionally well, and its excellent structure should allow it to continue to develop in bottle for a decade or more. Outstanding.
