2016 Piesporter Michelsberg Riesling Kabinett - Havemeyer 

Big fuzzy fresh peach, sweet orchard blossom, lime juice. White strawberry, mint leaf, cool slate. Strikingly aromatic nose resembling white gummy bears and it drinks as refreshing as pink lemonade. Off-dry with beaming acidity. This 2016 Piesporter Michelsberg Riesling Kabinett is invigorating and sessionable.

Mosel Riesling is iconic for its complexity and its ability to express terroir. The best examples can age for decades and develop into a beautiful mosaic of fruit and earth. This 2016 Kabinett Riesling is still young and very primary, but is absolutely drinking beautifully and gives a glimpse into what makes these wines so special. Riesling gets a bad wrap in the states due to the cloyingly sweet and simple supermarket variations that pop up everywhere, but a real Mosel Riesling will quickly restore the faith of anyone who has been wronged by some two buck chuck.
