2019 “Afiora” Rosé - Grassini Family Vineyards

Young strawberry, rose water, lemon zest. Juicy peach, cucumber skin, ripe watermelon. A beautifully bright and zippy procession of tart raspberry, red cherry, and grapefruit sings with fresh and youthful exuberance as subtle hints of mint leaf and sage impart just a touch of lightly herbal complexity. Notes of cherry blossoms and peonies gradually emerge to reveal pretty floral overtones that fade into intriguing earthy notes of gravel, rock salt, and stoney minerality. Lovably whimsical and lighthearted on the nose with a palate that is remarkably crisp, crunchy, and energetic; exhibiting clean, tart, and thirst-quenching freshness while remaining delicate yet thoroughly expressive. Medium in body and driven by bursts of laser-like acidity. This 2019 "Afiora" Rosé by Grassini Family Vineyards is a wonderfully delicious and refreshing rosé from Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara County.

As the days get longer and the spring sunshine begins to emerge from its winter slumber, perhaps no beverage is better suited to being enjoyed outside on a warm day than a cold glass of rosé. This bottling, crafted by Grassini Family Vineyards using Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from their Happy Canyon estate vineyard, is an outstanding choice to pop and pour for your first outdoor spring soirée. This wine practically livens up any room with a range of crisp and juicy berry, stone, and citrus fruits presented alongside subtle herbal notes, mild florals, and booming minerality. While thoroughly youthful and primary this still manages to exude nice complexity and depth, and its long lingering finish playfully sticks around until the next sip. Yum!
