Golden apple slices, wild jasmine, bartlett pear. Ripe cantaloupe, tall dry grass, lemon curd. Dried parsley and savory herbs, fresh apricot and juicy nectarine. A spurt of creme, a dash of clove, a pinch of crushed roasted almond. A farmers market jammed full of an assortment of plump yellow fruit stationed on a lot covered in blonde sandy soils. This 2015 Kyndall's Reserve Dutton Ranch Chardonnay by Dutton Estate Winery is classically styled RRV Chard done right.

Boasting nearly 1100 acres of vineyards Dutton Ranch is one of the Russian River Valley's most prolific properties. Wine grapes from this estate are sourced by a plethora of Sonoma's biggest names including a handful of highly allocated cult producers. The Dutton Family has been farming the area since the late 1800's and successfully transitioned to growing wine grapes starting in the 1960's. Dutton Estate Winery was itself founded in 1994 by Joe and Tracy Dutton with the intention to make high quality wines from the family's own fruit. This wine, which is comprised of a blend of Chardonnay grapes from 3 separate vineyards located on the ranch, is terrifically well balanced and reveals a glimpse of what makes this property so special. Succulent fruit, balanced acidity, sandy earthiness & a touch of roundness make this wine a can't-miss bottling for California Chardonnay lovers. Dutton Estate Winery proves here that the Dutton Family can do more than just farm.
