2013 Mercurey Blanc - Domaine Faiveley
Crunchy underripe white peach, wild acacia, fresh lemongrass. Green apple, Forelle pear, zingy limestone. A touch steely with just enough roundness to keep the wheels turning. Refreshing and perfect for the summer heat. This 2013 Mercurey Blanc by Domaine Faiveley is what you need to get you through hot days and warm nights.
Domaine Faiveley is the single largest family owned domaine in all of Burgundy. They control more monopoles than anyone else which gives them a stranglehold on some of the most desirable fruit around. This village chardonnay comes from 3 separate climats in the village of Mercurey located in the Côte Chalonnais from soils of primarily clay and limestone. The wine itself is aged mainly in stainless steel with a small portion aged in neutral oak to provide body. For affordable village level White Burgundy this is some yummy stuff.
