2017 La Rose - Clos Soléne

Clos Solene Rose.jpg

Freshly picked strawberry, mango puree, peaches still hanging on the tree. Guava, wild crabapple, a waft of young pink rose. Like biting into a enormous slice of watermelon on a hot day - but this watermelon is seasoned with a dash of something slightly untamed and interesting. This 2017 La Rose by Clos Soléne is more than a basic pink porch pounder.

Made from a blend of 60% Grenache, 26% Mourvedre, 9% Syrah, and 5% Cinsault, this Paso Robles rosé is not unlike something you would see coming out of the south of France - except somebody turned the intensity up to 11. Winemaker Guillaume Fabre of Clos Solène has done an excellent job of crafting a serious wine in a category that is typically dominated by the whimsical. If you're a fan of a little something interesting to go along with your yum then you're going to want to give this bottle a shot!
