Peach slices, cantaloupe rind, peonies. Canned pineapple, alfalfa, guava purée. Oozing tropical fruit and sunshine with the slightest touch of floral earthiness and terpenes. Like drinking a cold piña colada with a lime peel garnish on a sandy beach in Mexico. This 2016 Estate Grenache Blanc By Brick Barn Wine Estate will put a smile on anyone's face.

Originating from a mutation of the black skinned Grenache grape, Grenache Blanc is a fun and fruity varietal commonly found in Spain and Southern France. While typically used as a blending component in its homeland, Grenache Blanc can be coaxed into some very interesting single varietal bottlings under the right conditions. This rendition by Brick Barn was crafted from vines planted in their very sandy benchland vineyards surrounding their winery facility in the Santa Ynez Valley. It is refreshing and easy-drinking while still containing enough guts to give you something to think about.
