2015 Les Sétilles Bourgogne Blanc - Olivier Leflaive

Lemon rind, fresh white peach, perfectly ripe cantaloupe. Slightly reductive, bright and delightfully expressive. Creamy textural richness and clean stone minerality mark this unpretentious yet relatively sophisticated white Burgundy. The 2015 Les Sétilles Bourgogne Blanc by Olivier Leflaive is a phenomenal value of a Chardonnay.

Produced by famed negociant Olivier Leflaive, the fruit for this wine was sourced from vines in the prestigious communes of Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. Interestingly the 2015 Les Sétilles is unable to be classified as a village wine because it comes from vineyards located less than 230 meters above sea level. The resulting wine, classified only as a Bourgogne Blanc, is still wonderfully representative of its heritage. Aged for 15 months, 66% of the wine is aged in oak barrels (13% new oak) and the remainder in stainless steel. The wine was allowed to undergo Malolactic fermentation. The result is a balanced wine, showing the ripeness of the warm 2015 vintage, while still remaining fresh with balanced acidity. This is a great value bottle to check out if you are wondering what white Burgundy is all about!
