2005 Ca'Rome' Barbaresco - Romano Marengo

Dehydrated cherry, wilted rose petal, tomato puree. Dried cranberry, bay leaf, oregano. A touch of paprika and hint of marinara. Actually, this wine kind of just tastes like a big heaping plate of spaghetti with fresh handmade pasta noodles. This 2005 Ca'Rome' Barbaresco by Romano Marengo is good ole fashioned food friendly Italian deliciousness.

Founded by Romano Moreno in 1980, Ca'Rome' is a small family run winery operating in Barbaresco of the Piedmont region of north western Italy. They produce classically styled wines from the Nebbiolo grape grown on 12 acres of their own vineyards along with 5 more acres of rented land. The extreme effort and care that they put into each bottle shows in the characterful finished wines. If you have the opportunity to try some of this stuff do not hesitate!
